Integrated Authentication and LDAP queries

Hi guys

I have a rather simple question, which I need and answer to, including some documentation. Hope you can help me.

If you have a scenario where Integrated Authentication is used, how often will the portal need to look up the current user in the LDAP?

Lets consider the following scenario:

In a large company all employees have the portal frontpage as their browser homepage. Will the portal look up the current user everytime, he starts up his browser? If this is the case, there will be a severe load on the LDAP server.

Or is the SAP Logon ticket used after the first logon instead of the LDAP verification, until the SAP Logon Ticket has expired?

I guess the latter is the correct answer. But if you know of any documentation, where it is clearly ⚠️ stated that the SAP Logon ticket is used after the first logon, it would be really nice (and rewarded oc).

Best regards,

Martin
