Hi,
I have installed an hana server on a docker container and it's worked.
But when I stop docker container, I am not able to restart hana server.
it seems hdbdaemon doesn't start..
Any idea ? Has someone encounter the same issue ?
Regards
Sandrine

Hi,
Looks like this issue is related to locking mechanism in HANA.
When HANA is started, automatically HANA will create some lock files under below folder.
And if you stop HANA then below files will get deleted automatically.
/hana/shared/SID/HDB00/localhost/lock
hdbcompileserver@30010.pid
hdbdaemon@30000.pid
hdbindexserver@30003.pid
hdbnameserver@30001.pid
hdbpreprocessor@30002.pid
So now the scenario is if you stop HANA Docker container without properly stopping HANA database.
then the lock files will remain as it is in the lock folder.
and HANA will never come up looking at the already existing lock files in lock folder.
Resolution:
Delete all files under the lock folder.

Hi Sandrine,
I am also trying to install Hana on docker container. It looks like the installation is complete and all required files are written in the file system and hana installer is waiting for the services to start at the create instance phase. When you check the log you can find that the start service command is executed and it is waiting for the services to get started Have you faced this issue.
I am installing Hana on rhel 6.5.
Thanks,
Heinz
