Hi,
I am trying to set up the archiving and deletion of Messages in the XI. I followed the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/402fae48-0601-0010-3088-85c">Archiving Messages in XI 3.0.pdf</a> Guide and the online help.
I was able to archive the messages but I now have the problem that I can't read them. When I am using the 'Read Program' and click the 'Display Archived Version' Button of an archived XML Message, I got the following error:
Could not find message in archive
Message no. XMS_ADM079
When I use the Archive Explorer I can see all the archived Message (but without the payload)
Does anybody know this problem?
Thanks for help
Thomas
Use the archiving object BC_XMB to archive XML messages ( As mentioned in the document), Then the archive information structure SAP_BC_XMB must be activated in order to read the messages that are archived

Hi,
You also have to activate SAP_BC_XMB and fill the structure with TX SXMB_ADM
This is how you proceed:
1. start SXMB_ADM
2. choose Schedule archiving jobs
3. click "Archive management"
4. click "Information System"
5. click "Customizing"
6. choose "Archive Infostructure" for Object "BC_XMB" and activate it by clicking on "Activate" button.
7. go back and click on "Status".
8. click on "Status per Infostructure"
9. select your object "SAP_BC_XMB" and click "Fill Structures"
10. run it as a background task
pls. reward points if this helped and mark this question as 'answered'.

Hi,
I am also doing the Message Archiving. Can you specify the exact pdf link. When I am clicking the link it is showing the wrong path.
Thanks,

Hi,
the link is...
Does your the message archiving work?
Thanks
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
Just out of the top of my head ...
If you are talking about synchronous messages then I believe that standard behaviour would be that only the message headers are archived but not the actual payloads ...
For asynchronous messages the payloads should be there ...
Maybe it has something to do with that ?

Steven

Hi Steven,
actually I just use asynchronous messages. So the message which were archived are asynchronous.
By the way another question. Is it correct, that the deletion job which I can schedule via the sxmb_adm just deletes the messages which are not included in the defined interfaces for archiving?
So if I select the interfaces which I want to keep in the XI in this definition and don't schedule any Archiving Runs, the (xi) deletion job will only deletes the rest?
Thanks for help
Thomas
