Reschedule Date on QM Lot in MD04

Can someone tell me how the reschedule date for a QM Lot push out message is calculated? For example we have a lot that was due on 10/13/14 but there is a push out message to reschedule to 12/11/14. Can someone tell me what data the system uses to calculate the 12/11/14 date? Which configuration or data fields does it consider when making this calculation?

Thank you!

Hi Melanie,

Basically, when the MRP runs, it creates replenishment orders. You can also have fixed MRP elements (like purchase orders, production order, QM lots, etc.. ) that are part of the MRP calculation, and because these documents are fixed, the MRP can not move the orders by changing the dates in case there is a shortage or in case the MRP determines that an order is not needed anymore or should be schedule out..

So when the MRP determines that a fix element should be moved to avoid the particular situation (particular means shortage or overstock), it adds an excpetion message.

Now, to understand what I am saying, go to MD04, and note that if you process the QM lot on 10/13/2014, you will have overstock.. so the MRP says that it would be better if you process the QM lot on 12/11/2014. Anyway.. in this case, I would dismiss this message.. because once the stock is in the plant, in QM, it is too late to schedule out..

Kind Regards,

Mariano
