Alerts in PI 7.4

Hi Experts,

For Alert configuration in PI 7.4 I followed the steps as given in the document http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-3804 ,

the alerts are not raised for Adapter engine error and also for the mapping errors.

The following document works for the mapping errors

The following blog gives an alert for Adpater engine errors,

but the information provided here was more detailed,my user wants it in more precise.

Will the alerts get trigger in PI 7.4 using the normal approach(ie as per given in this document http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-3804 )

If not please suggest on how to trigger alerts in PI7.4 in precise.

HI Rachel,

You really have to ways to set alerts. The new way suggested by Gaurav in  Michal Krawczyk's blog and another if you have ABAP stack:

Personally, i'd rather use component based message alerting.

Hello Sheela ,

The last document you mentioned will not work in your case as that is for an old version of PI.

As you are on SAP PI 7.4 the best document to follow is : This work for both adapter and mapping failures.

It worked fine.

But my user doesn't want it to be more detailed as the output mail contains

Errcat,Errcode,MonitoringUrl,RuleId,ToParty etc..

As I said the content of the alert mail should be short and precise.

Hello Rachel ,

Frankly speaking these alerts are mainly intended for technical consultants and not specifically for Business users. You can send the business users a daily report on the interface status.
