Make a New Client as CUA

Former Member

after installing the default installation I got these clients 000, 001, 066

I made additional 3 clients 100,200,300

First I tried to make a new administrator, I couldn't cuz I didn't find any template roles to assign them to a new user I have created already.

after making the new Administrator I ll start to make my landscape as follow, (just for studying)

client 100 CUA

Client 200 Child client

Client 300 Child Client

So all of them are new as you see, what shall i do to finalize this issue?

many thanks

Hi Mina,

1st - You only get 3 client after any new installation, you need to create and copy one from 000 or 001 delivered client for setting up a new client.

Use KBA -  1537913 - Client Copy: Local & Remote copies, Client Export/Import and Client deletion

Now once this is done, you will have to create new users in this client, only DDIC and SAP* are delivered, where SAP* is the once which is hard coded, you need to create it's user master records in SU01 to make it's existence in database. Check table usr02 for all users. Both these users have no roles, but profile attached to them which is SAP_ALL.

To get roles, you can either copy and create a new using PFCG tcode and modify them or use delivered roles without modification.

Once you get this done, you can proceed with next step, your CUA setup in any client that you intend to use for this purpose - refer -

Hi Mina,

After doing the client copy, you can start the CUA configuration. And to make CUA, no need additional client for CUA. you can do it in any client.

Thanks

HI Sirman,

Many thanks for your answer

I did the same steps in the mentioned link, and I went to check it from SCC3. It told me that it successfully completed. but when I go to check the usernames which should be copied by the local copy, I find nothing of roles or users, and the only user I have after finishing the local copy is SAP* only which I can't use it to create an administrator because there is no template roles or any thing on the new client.

FYI I selected SAP_USER and another time SAP_PROF. the result is the same. in addition I can't make the local copy by selecting SAP_ALL or SAP_CUST and pop up me with an instruction screen.
