Former Member

Hi,

I am doing update Sp12 for Solution Manager 7.1 from SP10.

In the Execution phase, I got error START-AS-JAVA error

Of cause, I did all of correct SAP Kernel upgrade and tools also I did follow the notes 1401712 and all of related notes.

But still same error and Java-Start looping

Also I found error in dev_enqwork file in SC*/work folder.

What I did Clean all of semaphores and memory with command ipcrm -s/-m

I did restart Server and rerun SUM, but same error. I opened OSS message and ssh connection but almost 24 hrs waiting answer.

If anyone can help me? or any idea check somewhere? I did so many things and I have no idea where I go

Regards.

Jerry

Hi guys,

I found some error from dev_jcontrol and dev_ms files in /usr/sap/SID/DV*00/work folder.

DEV_MS

dev_jcontrol

I think the connection port blocked or closed during the SUM process.

If anyone know how can reopen port 3901, 3900, 8101 and 8100 or better ideas?

Regards.

Stop the SAP system and remove all the stream files in the /tmp file system and start the SAP system manually.

Hi Ashutosh,

I already checked sap notes 2062529 and 1623885 before I created ports not open message today morning. The ports are correctly defined "3901" in profile parameters and in configtool.

Port, hosts, localhost and etc they are fine.

Problems are ports that connection refused

Hi Reagan,

which /tmp you are saying? /tmp? or /usr/sap/tmp? or /.../SUM/abap/tmp? or /../SUM/sdt/tmp?

I checked /tmp and /usr/sap/tmp but I have no idea why you are said delete tmp folder

FYI

Could you explain more detail location and what are you looking for?

Thank you

Hello Jerry,

I suggested to remove only the stream files in the /tmp file system and not to delete the /tmp

ls -la /tmp

If there are no stream files present then kill all the SAP processes from the OS level and restart the SAP system.

Provide the latest trace files from the /usr/sap/SID/SCS<NN>/work and /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS<NN>/work directories.

The traces you have supplied are from the 7th of October

Hi Jerry,

Set the parameter service/webprotectedmethods = DEFAULT in all the profile such as instance profile . default profile and start profile including SCS and DVEBMGS<XX>.

If it does not work then maintain it as service/webprotectedmethods = NONE

Then restart the sapstartsrv services.

Hopefully it will resolve your issue.

Hi Ashutosh,

I did before but only instance 00.

I did follow your advice and did all instance 00, 01, 02 and restart sapstartsrv and SUM

Unfortunately, same error and looping

Hi Jerry,

Did you set the environment variable SAPLOCALHOST = <hostname> in the session where you running SUM.

Moreover , all your instances should be up and running if there is some problem with service webmethod then your JSPM will not open.

Try to open the JSPM.and paste the screenshot.

Hi,

Already set environment parameter SAPLOCALHOST.

All of instance are not running, error became SUM execution phase Start-Java and Abap wait SAPJup. I can't open JSPM because the Services are still looping and don't want to start.

Hi Jerry,

Stop the SUM tool and bring the java stack to normal mode from safe mode with the help of configtool.

Restart the whole system and re-execute the SUM.

Hi Jerry,

Set service protected webmethod parameter to none in all profiles and try again.

Startsap java and resume sum again.

If os is aix then mounr proc file system.

Hi Jerry,

Are you able to start java stack.

If not provide  the logs from work  directory for startup failure.

If started, share output of sapcontrol  get status command.

I answered your first recommendation, I did already test and it doesn't work.

What I attached screen shots that's what I got only error.

What do you want to know more?
