Fiscal Year Variant Change from "Year Specific" to "Calendar Year"

Hi,

My client is currently using FY variant, which is designed as per the 4-4-5 calendar. Now, they are planning to change the FY variant from "Year Specific" to "Calendar Year" (4-4-5 to Normal calendar i.e., 31,28,31,30....), but don't want to change the FY variant (XX to YY). Another constraint is they want to do this in the12th period of the current year (2014).

The last day of the 12th period is 27th, which means 28th is the first day of the next FY (2015).

My concern here is what if I change the FY variant from "Year Specific" to "Calendar Year" in the live system & include the 28-31 day in the current FY (2014)?

    - Will it going to impact the FI posting & Reporting?

    - Will it going to impact the MM posting & Reporting?

    - Will it going to impact the Asset Accounting posting & Reporting?

Hi Rupesh,

Could you please give clarity on how you handled the situation of changing fiscal year from 445 to calendar year..Need this clarity as i have the same requirement.Need details of testing to be done and due diligence to be taken...

This is one of the critical change. Without analyzing the complete details if you change the Fiscal Year Variant, the system may stand still.

Please follow the advise as mentioned in the SAP Note 672255

672255 - Shortened fiscal year/changing fiscal periods
