MSDS Printer Set up at different location

Hello Experts,

Our Customer has multiple plant location and when Order is shipped they would like to printer MSDS in each plant Printer for the only order which are getting shipped from that facility ? The current WWI set up only allow them to Print on common printer. Please advise how to configure printer so report shipping can print the MSDS at shipping location ?

Dear Gargi

by standard you can set up a printer per sales organisation but not per plant of a company, The "issue" is the communication between SAP Sales ad Delivery and SAP EHS.

For interface of SAP SD and SAP EHS: check e.g. Output Data in SD - Product Safety (EHS-SAF) - SAP Library

The communicaiton is done using these structures:

RCGSDDOC

RCGUSDATA

If I remember correct: in the interface theres is no information any more available regarding the plant; you could try to take care about plant as well; but I can not recommend to do so; the whole EHS logic for WWI distribution (of SDS/MSDS)  is designed to use sales org only. You would have the need to enlarge a lot in standard EHS to do the "trick" and I am not sure if you will succeed.

As report distribution is quite "flexible" you could exchange the funtion modules in such a way that based on the data passed on to EHS you prepare an "own" coding so that per plant one printer could be set up.

Normally for dispatch of MSDS to a customer a "common" printer is used; but you could use the "Report recipient" option and define per plant one "report recipient"; this "address" can be related (If I remember correct) to an own SAP printer: So for internals dispatching of MSDS (starting  in CG54; all done manually) an option is existing.
