changing axis format in charts using css

Hi Community,

I have a requirement to show different chart based on a button selection. Initially chart is column chart and while clicking on button, chart will change  to bar chart.

In the initial chart (column chart) Y-axis data format is "#,##0.00", so Y-axis data are showing in decimal format.

If am clicking on button then the chart is changing to bar chart but X-axis data are not showing in decimal format.

So my requirement is, while changing the chart, X-axis data of bar chart also should display in decimal format.

Please any one help me on this..

Hi Shantakumar,

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot modify the formatting of axis labels of a chart via scripting.

Instead, why don't you create two charts (line and bar), with the required axis label formats, and script the button to toggle between them? That should satisfy your requirement.

    first i tried wit your solution but am using many charts in my app so its effecting to performance.

Hi Shantakumar,

The number of charts that you're using in your application should not really affect performance much. Performance will only be affected by your data sources and a few other factors. If you would like to tune your application, I suggest that you take a look at the following blog:

I think you can still go ahead and use multiple charts to achieve this end otherwise. Hope that helps!

At the moment, this does not seem achievable using a single chart on Design Studio. If a workaround is found, I will let you know.
