Hi All,

1. post a vendor invoice

2. post an outgoing payment (check payment)

3. create a check with the payment document FCH5

and after that why can't we just post the encashment using FCHR? why do we need FF67.

i know we use either FCHR or FF67 but could somebody please compare this two and tell me the advantages or disadvantages of one over the other.

and also why do we use FF68 for customer payment?

Thanks.

FCHR - You would use only if you are interested to clear the cheques. Hence, no bank reconciliation is possible (Note, your bank statement does contain not only cheque payment, but various incoming payments and outgoing payments)

FF67 - If you want to do bank reconciliation manually, then you use FF67, you can also use FF.5 or FF_5, if you are looking for electronic way of reconciliation.

FF68 - This is for manually entering cheque deposit transactions for the customers.

Hi Ravi,

thanks for the reply.

FCHR clears the intermediate check sub account and post credit entry to the main bank account is this not sufficient for Bank statement reconciliation? what additional functionality FF67 has over FCHR?

thanks again for your valuable time.

FCHR/FCKR handles the transactions related to Checks where as FF_5/FF67 handles all the payment modes like Wire, ACH........etc along with Checks.

Hope this clarifies you.

Hi Sreenivas,

Do you only consider cheque payments while doing the Bank Reconciliation? Definitely not. Is n't it? You will have to consider various type of transaction to complete your BRS.

If you have customer payment or bank interest paid by bank, then how would enter into system with FCHR?

In FF67 you could even enter all incoming payments and out going payments (need not necessarily be the cheques)

Hope this make sense.

Best Regards,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

so if it's only check encashment I can use FCHR or FF67.

but for other transactions for reconciliation i would have to use only FF67 (as FCHR won't serve the purpose)?

and for check deposit do we have any t code like FCHR or we have to use FF68 only.

Thanks for your time in replying me.

your answers are very helpful.
