Hi All,

In dms object linking there is no standard object for MIGO, I have created custom object type (Material Document) with reference to http://scn.sap.com/people/firoz.ashraf2/blog/2012/10/13/dms--linking-material-document-in-dir-and-di...  and have done configuration

I am able to attach document through CV01N and search them in CV04N based on key field, this is working fine

My Issue is

In Easy DMS object link there i can find the Material Document tab with description but there are no columns (Key fields) in the screen, i can't link Document for material document through Easy DMS

We are using version of Easy DMS 7.1.4.9:

Please find attached screen shot for your reference

Thanks a lot for any support

Regards,

Dear Yogesh,

Regarding the reported issue in EasyDMS I have to inform you that in EasyDMS individual object links

cannot be added. Please see the SAP note 1171060 which explains which kind of object types are supported by EasyDMS at the moment.

I'm sorry that I cannot offer you another reply but this restriction is due to the current design of EasyDMS.

Best regards,
Christoph

Dear Christotoph,

Can you please, if possible, provide the information, help with document/link that can help me understand relation between content repository, storage category, document class, document type, document version etc. I am still not able to have clear cut idea about it despite reading so many article about DMS. Also I would appreciate if you can help understand 'how particular content repository is enabled to save documents of particular module (i.e. MM, HR, FI, PP etc.)

Arthur Rodrigues

Hi Arthur,

first of all I start with content repository and storage category. These two terms belong to the content server area and are used in DMS when storing original files to document info records.

The content repository is defined for a content server in transaction OAC0 and can contain several storage categories which are defined in transaction OACT. So this is use to manage the files on the content server better. Also the document class is used from content server side as far as I know. For DMS documents this is DMS_PCD1. The document class is also used for the TREX indexing of files that is mandatory for activating the fulltext search.

Regarding the terms of document type, part, version, etc. please see the online documentation at http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/en/6e/17b853ff98b44ce10000000a174cb4/content.htm?framese...

Best regards,
Christoph
