Different timezones on MII server instances

Former Member

Hello,

I have a issue with different timezones on our instances.

I've checked both instances on our MII app server. From OS level I saw in putty the same timezones, So the problem is not in the OS level.

Later I've logged in into first SAP MII instance where I saw in scheduler correct timezone, but on the second instance I have one hour difference .

Maybe I am wrong but in my opinion the solution is to change timezone in configuration for that one instance,

but the question is: WHERE WE CAN CHANGE THIS ?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Regards

Karolina

Hi,

Can you check which time zone your Netweaver server is running on.

Hi Anushree Singh,

Thanks for your reply.

I've checked in putty and both instances has the same configuration for time zone:

CET-1CEST,M3.5.0,M10.5.0/3

so this look ok.

But in MII application, in scheduler I see for one instance GMT+1.

I have no clue where I can change this.

In my opinion it could be changing in MII configuration (but I dont know where) or problem exists in database. If someone could help I will be grateful.

Hi Karolina,

MII takes up the time zone from the java application server on which it runs. There are no configurations in MII to change this.

However, your server time zone can be changed using config tool. Please take a look at this link:

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/Time+zone+settings+with+SAP+Process+Integration

Though this document talks about PI, it applies to java stack in general.

Hello Anushree,

Thanks for your reply.

I've tried to add Duser.parameter in configtool and it did not help...

From OS level everything looks correctly. In MII configuration I can not change this.

I have no clue...

If you will have any ideas, please let me know.

Hi Karolina,

Did you re-start your instance after maintaining this parameter?

You need a re-start for these settings to take effect. Also what value did you maintain for -Duser.timezone?

Hello Anushree,

Yes, I've restarted instance after changing this parameter.

For Duser.timezone was set CEST. This change did not help...

If you will have any ideas, please let me know.

Hi Karolina,

Try setting the timezone to CET instead of CEST.

Hello Anushree,

I've tried once again to add an additional Duser.timezone parameter in configtool where I've set our timezone CET. After instance restart I 've checked everything and now is OK

So now we know the solution.

Many thanks for help Anushree !!!

Best regards,

Karolina

Hi Swaroop,

Thanks for your reply. That's a pity cause currently we are on NW 7.11 SP6, you are on higher 7.31 version, so from this level I can not change this:

Do you have any idea ?

Karolina
