SAP Solution Manager 7.1 - DA Installation on DB Host?

Hi All,

I have installed SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP4 and performed all the basic config and system prep, all lights are green.

I am currently trying to finish the Manage System Config. but getting stuck on a few things. So please help and advise where possible!

System: A distributed system, MSSQL db running on a host and SAP instance running on a different host. Diagnostic and Host agent installed on app server.

1.  Must I install a Diagnostic Agent on the dbhost too?

Managed System Config Step 4: It says to either choose and assign a Diagnostic Agent or use my SLD agent. So even though I select and connect my SLD agent, Step 4 still stays red.

Also, I have installed the Introscope EM on my solman server, do I need to install the agent on my SAP ABAP Server?

You don't have to install the SMD/host agent on the dbhost, it will help things in the long run but it isn't required.

Having SMD/host on your SolMan system and you want to assign that.  Unsure where you are seeing SLD agent?

Also SP 4 is old, you should of updated to SP 12 prior to performing solman setup.
