Unsubmitted Variable issue

Former Member

I have an AO workbook with two worksheets  with properties of the workbook set to merge variables. I am using replacement path variables to populate one of the queries based on input from the prompts.  After execution, the result of both worksheets are "Unsubmitted variables".   If I remove the merge variable setting, both queries execute as expected.  I've searched and cannot find anything related to this behavior and welcome any guidance.

Hi Ramona,

I believe this is not about merge variable issue

I just tried with replacement variable query(my case I have mandatory variable)

problem I observed is that, workbook is not storing the replacement variable query values, after opening workbook if I refresh, again prompt dialog is displaying(actually workbook should store with the variable values)

could you try this ? do you also see the same ?

Hi Subhash,

When I refresh, the prompt values displayed are the values selected upon initial execution of the workbook.  Is this what you were referencing?

Yes, the same ?

Yes, the prompts on refresh are the same that I entered at execution/opening of the workbook.  It is storing the original values selected on refresh of the prompts.

Hi Ramona,

Would you please look at this SAP Note and see if it applies? http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2005312

Thank you for your reply Tammy, for what I have read this note is related to the cancellation of a prompt.   I have other workbooks consuming merged variables which work properly, somehow I suspect the issue is related to using replacement path variables but haven't found articles supporting this theory.

Hi Ramona - I am at a loss on this - I don't have any queries with a replacement path to try this.

How does it work in BEx Analyzer?  Could you try it there (if possible?)
