Custom structure for plain message format on B2B add-on

Hello All,

I am new to using B2B addon . We have SAP PI 7.1 and have B2B Add-On.

My requirement is to create a custom plain file.

Can anyone guide me how to go about with this ?

Also, how are the Plain tables used in this case ?

Thanks for the links. I had a look at them initally but still few doubts so posted the question on the forum.

Now I have two specific questions :

1. I have SP01 and I don't see the editor under plain tab. Does that mean that I will not be able to create a custom plain structure and use in PI.

2. How do these PLAIN tables help us create the structure. Everywhere I find mention of Plain tables and what do they stand for, but nowhere I found as to how can I build a structure out of these tables and use in SAP PI.

Hi Pragya,

SAP just released SP4. You can use that one. Or try with SP3. Like you prefer.

But SP1 is really to low to have all necessary features available.

I don't have an option of upgrading to SP4, so I will not be able to create custom plain files  ?

Hi Pragya,

If I'm not mistaken, plain format is supported as of SP2.

The only option for you is to upgrade.

Hi Dimitri, Pragya,

Plain format is supported in SP1 also. The message editor feature is provided in SP4.

Former Member : I would suggest you to go through other SCN articles on Plain. You will definitely find some help in them.

I did go through the documents available on SCN and on HELP.

What I am unable to understand is that with SP1 how can use the Tables and create a custom structure. I didn't find any document on it.

I got few idea and started with the configuration. However, I am getting error even after maintaining all the parameters. Can you have a look at this thread please. I have gone through the troubleshooting guide already.
