Hi Ahmed,

I think you must be refering to Referenc keys 1,2,3 right  (XREF1, 2 &3)? you may allow them to use those fileds as they are standard SAP fileds, but make the status as "opitional" in Field status group.

Dear Gayani,

Thanks for your quick respond, Yes i'm referring to reference keys 1,2,3.

my concern is the production server has 3 years in go-live data , and more than 14,000 document open item, is there any side effect from changing the field status for the Posting key?

Thanks and Best regards,

Ahmed Samir

Hi Ahmed,

It won't affect for the posted documents. Why are changing directly in production server?

I think it will not effect any posted doc because it's like use of available field in the table. But just test it before activating in production.

hi Ahmed,

As i mentioned please make those fields opitional only. dont make them mandentory unless you have specific posting keys or GL A/C where you want to activate the Ref keys becuase at the time of clearing those old open docs system will check the Ref keys availabiliy if you make those fileds mandentory.

Please do test this senario in QA/Test system before doing any changes in PRD enviornment. Do the changes only for the relevent GL/posting keys.
