MIGEXPORT needed for SWPM MaxDB system copy?

Former Member

After executing a MaxDB backup/restore system copy with SWPM, there's a request for MIGEXPORT - any idea which media I shall provide?

SAP just confirmed that this is a SWPM bug, they sent me a dummy export DVD.

Half year later, SWPM10SP08_4, same issue

My solution: Created a file called "LABEL.ASC" with the following content:

SAP:MIG:*:EXPORT(1/:*:*

Entered the path to "LABEL.ASC" in SAPINST/SWPM and pressed "Next" button.

I've found a workaround

Start an Export Preparation on source system and run this. This creates you the directory structure and the labels. Copy this Export directory to your target system and insert this location. SWPM will go on whitout any Errors. My installation finished successfully.

Hi,

same problem. Newest SWPM, Backup/Restore Option, stopped for manual actions, now SWPM wants MIGEXPORT, but I have no export. Cannot continue,

Started SWPM again, but it wants this media.

Any solution here?

Need this System tomorrow! Any idea here?

Thanks

Thomas

Hello Daniel

That is the location where you have exported the source system. If you are doing a system copy using backup and restore then during target system creation have you selected the "Load Based" or "Backup and Restore" option under the installation method ?

Hi Reagan,

I chose Backup and Restore, and interrupted to delete batch jobs. After I rerun it again, the question came up - I guess it's a bug.

Hello Daniel

I believe it is a bug and not the expected behaviour. Possibly a clean start of SWPM might help.
