MRP -- Where the information comes for ordering.

Hi all:

These days we are releasing orders by using MRP, and we found out a problem during the load of data.

For instance, MOQ (minimum order quantity) was loaded at inforecord level, but not at master item level (MM01-MM02). And besides, on Lot size data, EX -- Lot-for-lot order quantity has been selected for all items, generating multiple purchase requsitions for a low amount. I have an example of total amount needed 75 units, and 16 purchase requisitions generated for such reference. See attached picture:

After some test, we figured out that MRP is taking:

  • Deadline from Inforecords.
  • MOQ and quantities from MM02.
  • Lot size is affecting how MRP groups purchase requisitons.

Is the above assumption correct?

If it so, should we mantein two screens; inforecords and MM02 in deadlines (MM02 requires as mandatory this field), and MOQ in MM02 and Inforecords??, I think this is time consuming and risks of mistakes or insights are there.

Regards,
