Collections Strategies processed for all customers

Hi

We have setup Collections Strategies in FSCM. We have set our Worklist so that if a customer is contacted and thee contact is logged, the item will disappear off the Wirklist for a period of days.

Can you advise do the Collection Strategies run for all customers or will they run only for those customers that are currently actively on the worklist?

Thank you.

Hi Michael

OK - In order to show up on the worklist the following needs to occur

1 - Your customers have a corresponding Business Partner - or mapped to a business partner via a relationship

2 - The BP has the Collection Management role extended and a Collections Profile added.

3 - A relevant Collection Group and Segment are assigned to the BP.

Your Collection Group is linked to a Collection Strategy.

Now - the worklist might only show - one Segment or one Group - however lets assume it shows everything

If you have everything - then as long as the customer gets a valuation score it will appear in the worklist (unless it has been previously processed)

To re-appear the worklist will need to be re-generated and the customer gets a valuation.

You can assign Specialists to a BP so they appear in individual worklists  - or use distribution methods.

So in short it is not the Strategy that controls which customer appears but a number of variables.

Hi Mark

Thanks for the information, it helps alot.

We have all those variables in place that you mentioned.

I would just like to confirm my understanding.

Assume the collector has contacted a customer so that it removes from teh worklist and will not appear again for 5 days (Day 5). When the worklist is generated on Day 1 and the Strategy rules processed, will it still consider that customer that is not currently on the worklist or will the strategy rules only be processed for those customers that appear on the worklist?

Reason i ask is this. We have setup a rule to send out email notifications to customers if there invoices are exactly 25 days overdue compared to teh worklist generation date. If our customer is question was overdue say 24 days and the collector had contacted them and they then disappear off the worklist. When the srtategy rules are processed next day, the customer will now be 25 days overdue and should in theory get a notification. However he will not be on teh worklist so wondering does he still get evaluated against the strategy rules or not?

Thanks for your advice.

I will assume that you generate your worklist everyday - and that the transfer from FI-AR to FSCM occurs every day.

Without knowing your collections rules that are in your strategy I can only be vague.

But the process is - the data from FI-AR runs into Collections Management.

Collections Management then uses the data to "valuate" the BP against rules within the Strategy.

If there is a score - the BP will appear within the worklist.

Within your Collection Strategy - you could create an exit rule that say - if a customer contact has been successful within the last 5 days it wont appear on the worklist. (CR0020)

I think it is just terminology but I am unclear what you mean by "strategy rules are processed the next day" - as it is not the rules that are processed - it is the AR data of the customer that is valuated.

Yes we do the data transfer every day and generate the worklist every day.

I think you are saying all BPs on teh system (that are assigned the correct Collection Group) will be evaluated and processed against the collection strategy  rules. They will then decide whether the customer appears on teh worklist or not. If one of the rules is an exit rule and this preceds the email notification rule in the strategy then it will exit the strategy and not process for the email notifications (until such date as the exit rule no longer applies which will then allow the succeeding email notification rule to process).

Did I understand you correctly?

many thanks

hi Michael

That is spot on.

If the BP meets a rule within the strategy it would appear - however the exit rule trumps this and takes the BP out of the worklist until it no longer applies.

Brilliant, thank you Mark. I maked the answer correct so I hope this allocates you the relevant points (not sure otherwise how to award points).
