Budget thru investment management

Dear All,

we have implemented investment management module in our company for capital budget purpose.The process of creating IO,Assigning budget thru-IM22 and KO22 is followed correctly.Now i have an issue.Suppose i have created one I/O and assigned the investment program & position ID.But i have not assigned any budget neither in IM32  nor in KO22.I am posting one entry to this I/O for capitalizing some item.Syatem is not giving any error message and posting the document.But if i am giving budget in IM32 and KO22 and posting the entry for more amount than the budget provided then system is giving error message that budget exceeded for that I/O.Now please advice how to proceed further as the users are happily posting the capitalization entries.

Hi Shivaji,

Take a look at the following OSS notes:

• 599813 - Availability control before budgeting
• 1345803 - Deactivating availability control using KO30 or CJBV
• 826347 - No availability control before budgeting for a new WBS element
• 816150 - Availability control without budget cannot be activated for orders
• 781243 - Exit from Note 599813: Problems after Customizing change
• 720667 - Dump or error in activation/regeneration of availability control
• 621619 - Exit: Activation of availability control before budgeting
• 602588 - Availability control before budgeting
• 498233 - Activating the availability control

Thanks again for your reply.I have  go thru the notes provided by u.In that the note no.602588 says if your activation type is 1 or 2 the without providing budget to the I/O the activation control will not be activated.same is our scenario also.Due to this technical and performance reasons nothing can be done.Hence the issue is resolved.

Hi Shivaji,

Please have in mind that note 599813 (Availability control before budgeting) mentions a badi (IM_BEHAVIOUR) to activate availability control despite budgeting. Maybe this badi helps you.
