Hi experts,

I want to upgrade my SAP_BASIS700 to SAP_BASIS701 with SUM. And I decompress the software SUM10SP11_5-20006543.SAR to /usr/sap/IDS/ , then I run the command ./STARTUP in /usr/sap/IDS/SUM . But the command cannot be implemented , the system showed below:

GVSHP101:idsadm 110> setenv DISPLAY 192.168.112.54:0.0

GVSHP101:idsadm 111> xclock

Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion

GVSHP101:idsadm 112> ./STARTUP

*** Checking if C++ runtime is installed ...

*** Starting from /usr/sap/IDS/SUM/sdt...

** Checking username "idsadm" for compliance...

Dear

For upgrade using sum first you have to generate mopz through solution manager and generate stack xml file then you have login with http://hostname:4239

after that follow this link

Hi Reagan,

Thanks for your help. I have opened a browser and input http:GVSHP101:4239 .  Now I can implement the installation . But the installation cannot be implemented when select the target version definition for your system. The system shows I should input the path of XML. How can I get the file of XML. Thanks a lot .

Hi Zhang,

First you need to generate .xml file from the solution manager in your landscape for the system for which you're going to upgrade.

After generation of xml file for the system select Stack configuration file and provide the .xml file instead of provide *.SAR file as you selected in shared snapshot.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Zhang,

As Gaurav said, You can generate stack configuration file using Solution Manager.

You can refer below blogs based on your solution manager version.

http://scn.sap.com/community/it-management/alm/solution-manager/blog/2013/05/03/quick-xml-stack-gene...

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-26893

Please take above blogs as a refrence and generate stack configuration file for SAP_BASIS700 to SAP_BASIS701 upgrade.

Rinkesh

Hello,

I have supported Maintenance Optimizer for 5 years, and we never supported EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.0 upgrade.

Look up http://service.sap.com/mopz

The EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.0 is nowhere to be found in the supported upgrade paths. It says in fact:

"Upgrade:

  • to SAP NetWeaver 7.02 and higher versions"

I have been in touch once a week with the people who develop the Maintenance Optimizer backend. They have explicitly told me that EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.0 is not a supported target from SAP Netweaver 7.0 in Maintenance Optimizer.

I am clarifying this point, because other posters here are saying here you have to generate an XML with Maintenance Optimizer to go from SAP Netweaver 7.0 to EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.0 . It might work, but it is officially not supported.

Best regards,

Miguel Ariño
