Not possible to create business partners for retail sites

Hi

Problem

We want to maintain future addresses, geocodes, dynamic opening hours etc. for our retail sites with SAP Business Partner.

Since an SAP site is both a vendor and a customer, I've tried to put on the vendor/customer integration. But both for vendors (transaction FLBPC1) and customers (transaction FLBPD1) checking rules prohibit retail sites (they use T001W-VLFKZ).

That doesn't make sense to me.

  1. Why is it in that way?
  2. Does any work-around exist?

Documentation

Open transaction FLBPC1.

Switch on the debugger (/h).

Insert vendor (site): e.g. N543.

Press enter.

Insert breakpoints at statement: MESSAGE. Press F8.

The debugger ends here by the yellow arrow. Place a breakpoint above at line 335:

'

Press F8. The debugging has been completed. Press enter again in the vendor field.

Press F5. In line 10 a special check-rule exists for retail sites:

Insert a breakpoint at classname "CVI_KA_BP_VENDOR", method name "is_vendor_retail_site".

Press F8. Here the program observes that the vendor is a retail site:

    Answer in incident 934039 / 2014:

It is not possible to synchronize a customer that is at the same time a retail site to a business partner. The reason for this is can basically be found in the description in note 1025037. The connection of a retail site to a business partner was basically not in scope. In addition there is - however - a technical reason. For example:

A SAP standard customer has an own unique address number and points to a unique entry in the BAS (central address management, ADRC etc.).

Also a SAP standard vendor is assigned to an own unique BAS entry. A plant in SAP retail is also assigned to an unique BAS entry. It is possible to maintain different address informations for a plant/customer/vendor even if they are "assigned" in a non-retail enviroment, because these parts keep its own address entry.

SAP Retail sites consist of a "Plant" part (T001W etc.) a customer part (KNA1 etc.) and a vendor part (LFA1 etc.). All these parts are using the same address number and pointing to one single entry in BAS. You cannot maintain different address information for the corresponding site-parts. To avoid address inconsistencies the BP functionality was explicitly excluded for SAP retail sites.
