Changing data base fields

We recently migrated to a virtual server. A date/time field in the data base now displays as a string. Being in Health Care, date/time is a frequently used field. When the data is exported to Excel, the ability to format the data no longer exists.

    Hi Carolyn,

It is because, the string value is exported to excel and you can't modify or make any modifications with respect to date time.

So, Create a formula in your report like

    If Isdatetime({databasedateobject}) Then

    datetime({databasedateobject})

    Else

    date(1900,01,01)

This will convert your string date value to datetime.

    Thanks,

    Sastry
