I'm on BODS 4.1 sp3 and im ugrading from patch 1 to patch 2.

As a standard practice I back-ed up these files:

/app/bods/sapbo/dataservices/conf/admin.xml

/app/bods/sapbo/dataservices/conf/DSConfig.txt

/app/bods/sapbo/dataservices/conf/AS1/AS.xml

/app/bods/sapbo/dataservices/DataDirect/odbc/odbc.ini

/app/bods/sapbo/dataservices/DataDirect/odbc/odbcinst.ini

/app/bods/sapbo/dataservices/bin/ds_odbc.ini

I ran into an issue where the odbc.ini got overwritten on the patch upgrade so I replaced it back.

My question is: do I carte blanc put these files back after the patch?

I'm wondering becasue I surely don't want to overwrite anything that may have been placed into the files from the upgrade.

Hi,

If you are upgrading on top of the existing version you don't need to reconfigure anything. Check the upgrade guide - http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sbods42/en/ds_42_upgrade_en.pdf

page 14.

Yes the guides basically tell you to back some things up ... but the details are not there. It merely talks about updating the configuration during the patch update which is what it appears to have been done.

Taking a closer look at the fs I see that:

admin.xml was copied to admin.xml.temp

DSConfig.txt was copied to DSConfig.txt_date_stamped_file

there was even a directory created called "migrated" where DSUserConfig.txt and DSConfig.txt were copied.

AS.xml doesnt appear to have been modified

I was looking for some peeps to validate that is should be all good and any possible mishaps I might want to look for.
