Hi Experts,
I would like to ask you about one case, I wondering about implementation SAP Global Label Management. Of course I’ve saw lot of documentation about it, I’ve found information’s on SAP SCN but I’m not sure whether I understand.
Currently I use SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 6.0(stack ABAP) and if I want to run SAP GLS I have to run:
It looks very complicated, and I’m not sure it`s a good way. Should I install all of these servers (DMS, Content Server, WWI server) or can I do it without installation separately servers – only SAP system configuration ?
Thanks and regards,
Tomasz
Dear Tomasz
please check the many threads we have now.
Examples are:
Based on your question I am sorry: you do not have the correct picture on what SAP is delivering how the "tools/solutions" are related to each other etc.etc. So only some short answers
For: Currently I use SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 6.0(stack ABAP) and if I want to run SAP GLS I have to run:
=> prerequisite of using EHS: you must have prepared the software; (check SAP EHS Management for Beginners; second your EHS BD and PS (basic data and tools, Product safety) part must be "up and runnning", set up of SAP DMS is in most cases done in the same SAP ERP system; (forget for a moment SAPcontent server topic; this is "add on" complexity; it is not mandatory to use it)
=> WWI servers. in nearly most of the cases these are separete "hardware" (please check WWI cookbook; which is discussed very often here)
=> EHP 7: to use GLM; EHP7 is not mandatory; but especially with EHP 7 additional features are available
=> additionally we have to start some business function => this depends on your need; no clue (without deeper knowledge of your demand etc.) if there is really the need to "activiate" something
Conclusion: without understandig the SAP ERP basic set up and the SAP EHS basic set up (including WWI set up) you will never succeed in a GLM project
