Dear All,
I wanted to understand in general, what is the best practice, i.e. to provide an employee who is being rehired in the organization with an old PERNR or with a new PERNR. I know, it depends on the client's requirement, but my client wants to understand, what is the general practice in the industry and which is more beneficial?

Hi Simran,
Generally old personnel number is used and Actions (IT0000) is updated with action type as 12(Rehire). This way you have complete history of the employee available for you.
Creating new personnel number is not at all recommended.
