Launch Query Designer not working in AFO 1.4.8

Former Member
0 Kudos

We had version 1.4.5 of Analysis for office and the Launch Query Designer was working.

We have Bex Query Designer 7.3 support package 3 revsion 699.

We now installed AFO 1.4.8 to get some other bugs fixed and now we can't open the Query Designer.  The line is greyed out.

What happened?

Hi Patty,

Check the option decribed on the SAP note 1921901 and use the setting DataSource/IgnoreQueryDesignerVersionCheck to open the query designer.

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\AdvancedAnalysis\Settings\DataSource\ and add String Value IgnoreQueryDesignerVersionCheck applying value True.

Thanks,

Hi Patty,

Just to complement the 's information, Analysis for Office 1.4.11 is planned to be delivered on CW 10, 2015 according to the SAP note 1518359.

Thanks,

Hi Patty Bohline,

This issue seems to be related with the installation.
You probably made an upgrade from the version 1.3.x to the version 1.4.x without unistall the AO. Once you upgrade from 1.3.x to 1.4.x the Analysis for Office you will not receive the features from 1.4.

My suggestion is to unistall the entire AO and install again the latest version of 1.4.

Kind regards,

Patty,

I also forget to mention the setting below that you can set on the workstation to true:

Path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP\AdvancedAnalysis\Settings\DataSource
Registry: EnableResetDataSource= true or false

Kind regards,
Diego Ferrary

Patty,

Please check your settings under the Analysis Ribbon - go to Analysis > Settings > Advanced Settings and select Launch Query Designer as show below:

Sounds like this might have been disabled

The line is greyed out in our settings.

And we are on the correct version of Query Designer

OK that is very strange; I recommend opening a ticket / incident with SAP Support because that is not right.
