Error in creating EXE files

Former Member

Hello,

Lately I am facing a wierd behavior while creating EXE files in PB9.0.

Whenever, deploying the project the PB throws a warning "Unable to find Resource File XXX.bmp", and the exe file is not created.

Although the path in the resource file and the code is same and the resource file has not changed in years, still the PB is showing an abrupt behavior.

The issue has come up suddenly without any change in the workspace.

Please suggest any reasons for this issue.

Thanks.

The working directory is same in which the project is being deployed. And also the the reference of the images in PBR file is correct as I can access those images if I enter the name in command prompt.

Along with this sometimes the warnings appear and sometimes they don't.

Not able to fix this issue.

I use PB9 daily and every once and awhile I get this. It happens after I do something that changes the current directory. I could open a file in the text file editor or the Database Painter. Exiting PB and restarting it clears the problem.

Thanks Roland,

Will you please tell me how to check if the directory has been changed. Because everytime I open the PB from its workspace only.

Thanks to please guide me through this.

See if the reference to that image included a directory, that the PBR file has that same reference, and that the file is actually in that location.

To avoid those kinds of issues, I generally put the images into an "images" directory that I add to the AppPath for the PowerBuilder IDE.  I then leave all directory references out of the image references and the PBR.

Maybe the working directory is different if you deploy your project so Powerbuilder can`t find the file?
