What is the difference between Shift factor late, tolerance, shift factor early and cycle modification factor. Please explain it with example.
Thanks in advance |
Hi,
Let me explain to you with example -
1. Shift Factor for late completion (this is same as Shift factor for early Completion)
Shift factor specifically for your maintenance plan by specifying the shift percentage to be taken into account when calculating the next due date.
For example the planned date for your maintenance order was 01.09.2014, but it was confirmed 20 days late on 20.09.2014. The next planned date may now be on a different date since this is dependent on the shift factors entered it may shift as per your percentage maintained. Lets see what happened if you maintain different percentage as given below
If the shift factor is 0% the next planned date will be 01.10.2014
If the shift factor is 100% the next planned date will be 20.10.2014
If the shift factor is 50% the next planned date will be 10.10.2014
I think this example will help you to make you clear on Late shift factor.
2. Tolerance -
I will explain you with below example, We entered below data in maintenance plan -
- Shift early factor : 90%
- Tolerance: 10%
- Shift late factor: 80%
- Tolerance: 10%
- Cycle period: 1 month (30 days)
- 1st order date: call date - 01-09-2014 ; Plan date - 03-09-2014
- 2nd order date: Call Date - 01-10-2014 and Plan date - 03-10-2014
in that case, the tolerance parameter will be 10% x 30 days = 3 days
Now if we complete order upto 3 days earlier or late 2nd date will not shift. and if 1st order completion will be more than 3 days then date for 2nd order will be shifted by that days.
only if this is possible if completion tick we mark.
Please check and tell me if you want anything. Hope this will help you.

Thanks for quick response
Please clarify that planned date for your maintenance order was 01.09.2014, but it was confirmed 20 days late on 20.09.2014.Does it means that planned date was 01.09.2014 but we have done the work 20days later and closed the order in the system 20days later that is 20.09.2014
Hi Ek V,
Yes we are late in doing the particular work. So instead of getting closed at 01.09.2014 it got delayed by 20 days and got closed on 20.09.2014.
Logically delay of 20 days so the next call will also get delay by 20 days.
Now from tolerance point of view (Tolerance =10%, 3 days) If we would have completed the PM order in 3 days though there may be delay of 3 Days ( Planned date - 01.09.2014 but completed on 04.09.2014) but next call does not get shifted by 3 days as it is within tolerance period.
I hope this will help you.

Rahul
