Approach for new Company Code Creation

Hello Experts,

One of the company will be using different local currency. For E.g. from USD > EUR.

In ECC we will be creating new Company codes, plants and Purchase Orgs.

What I would like to understand is,

1. In SRM do we have to create similar new Company Code?

2. Or, we can simply assign new company code to Old Company Node(in Function Tab) and change local currency in attributes from USD > EUR.

The approach 1 would require to migrate users from Old company to new.

If Approach 2 is feasible then we don't have to migrate users from old company to new in SRM. This will save efforts significantly.

Pls let me know if its advisable to proceed with approach 2.

Hi,

If you follow your approach 2, then old transactions will give problems. Better to create separate node for the new company code... and migrate the users to new company code.

The simple drag and drop will work, after dropping the users under new company code, the new relevant attributes need to be changed.
