Hi Murtaza,

Is the problem with the cron utility it self or problem with the script in the cronjob.

Means, is the job triggered at all by cron or when it is triggered, it fails ?

Can you share the command you are using. How about setting up a DBACOCKPIT. You can schedule backups from their as well.

If your SAP system is on Maxdb, you can schedule backups in dbacockpit or if you have a central system like solman from where you want to monitor and setup dbacocpit manually, check these

Thanks

Hi Amit,

Thanks for Reply.

In MDM Server there is no DBACOCKPIT or DB13, that's why i am scheduling cronjob.

cronjob can be scheduled from root user but command of MaxDB backup must run from sidadm, so i have to schedule cronjob with sidadm user only.

Thanks and Regards,

Murtaza Najmi.

Hi Murtaza,

Follow these documents which I have shared with you,  you should setup a dbacockpit in a central system, recommended to be your solman system.

Then you would be able to schedule backups from DBACOCKPIT/DB13. This is how we have done this for MDM and content server.

Otherwise, Please detail the problem with cron.  when you schedule the job which cron, does is not run ...or it runs and fails? if it fails provide the logs of failure.

Thanks

Amit
