Migration BO XI 3.1 to XI 4.1, Deski DX0016 error importing report

I have done the migration from a CMS 3.1 to 4.1 with all the documents (webi and deski) using the migration tool with no error.

I have no problem with the webi document.

I have upgrade my Deski with the sp7 service pack.

Using Deski, for the same documents on both systems i can import the document form the 3.1 system but from the 4.1 system i have the following error:

Import Failed DX0016

[repo_proxy 28] DocumentFacade::importDocument - (Helpers::InfoStore::ObjectFileHandle::extractContent) Local file copy has failed Erreur du File Repository Server : (hr=#0x80042a4a)

This is true for all deski document.

On the cms 4.1, on the input file repository on the location of the document i can find it, copy it and open it with Deski.

Any suggestions.

Thanks.

Christophe.

Hi,

With the help of the sap support we found that the solution is describe in the step 2 of the note 1939383 : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1939383 .

The step 2 specifies to copy Busobj.exe, busobj.tlb, BusobjSchedule.exe from "\\InstallDir\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Entreprise 12.0\win32_86\DCP" folder to "\\InstallDir\SAP Business Objects\Sap BusinessObjects Entreprise XI 4.1\win32_86" folder and to overwrite them if they already exist.

Best regards.

I'm having a problem with the Desktop Intelligence Compatability Pack version of Deski.

I need to get the reports onto the v4.1 server so that I can sort out connection issues for the freehand sql DPs before using the Report Conversion Tool to get them into Webi.

I followed the installation instructions in the SAP document https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1939383

I installed 3.1 SP6 client tools

Then 4.1 SP7 Client tool

Then 3.1 SP7 Client tools upgrade

I then copied the 3 objects from the new DCP folder in 3.1 win32_x86 to the 4.1 win32_x86 folder.

Every report that I open or create new has this bizarre bug.

The divide sign (/) is turned into a timestamp (12:00:00 AM"). eg. =2/1 becomes =2" 12:00:00 AM"1.

This is in the formula bar, if I go into the formula editor instead it just puts up an error box saying "Incorrect data type (DMB0003)"

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, we have the same Problem here.

Did you get any help? Is there a kb note for this?

Yes they've fixed it.

The knowledgebase article is 2298787 and the fix is in 4.1 client tools SP7 Patch 6

Thank you for your reply, Sean.

The note says, you have to patch the server as well. Do you know, if this is really necessary or may I only patch the tools?

Hi Christophe,

To open Deski document from BI4.1, you need to install DCP. Please check this link for more details :

Hi Ines,

Thanks for the answer but i have already install the sp7 of Deski which may includes sp6 with Fixpack 6.1 (DCP level) as it is written in the document http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP6/en/dcp_user_guide.pdf section 2.2.

Any other idea?

"...File Repository Server : (hr=#0x80042a4a)"

Do you specify the Request Ports for "CMS", "InputFileRepository", and "OutputFileRepository" and have these ports open on your corporate firewall?

Hope this helps,

Jin-Chong

Hi Jin-Chong,

We did a typical installation of the BO XI 4.1 and we don't have any such firewall restrictions within our lan.

Best regards.
