Email - PDF as Attachment from WebI (BI Launch Pad)

Hi,

I am struggling to figure out why WebI is behaving in a different way when I
open a report in BI Launch Pad. I am planning to send an email with PDF as
attachment to a different user. I can only do this via WebI Rich Client but not
via BI Launch Pad when the WebI report is opened.  I thought it was to do with the permissions
but the same user can send the report as PDF attachment in Rich Client.

I was thinking if it’s the BO tool which do not allow or should there be Adobe
installed in the server side for the WebI to be picked up.

we are using V 4.0 SP7 P5.

Any suggestion welcome. Did try the Admin guide  but no luck....

thank you for reading.

Kind regards,

Sarat.

If you want to send PDF report from Launchpad, you can schedule the webi report to email.

Hi Arijit,

I do not want to schedule the report as the user needs to do some analysis based on the information from the report and then only email the output to other people to view the information but not via BO, but a pdf file.

I did not wanted to use Schedule in this case, as it doesnot fit the purpose, on the other hand I knew that this is possible when you assign a report to schedule you can select the format needed at the time of creating schedule.

In that case, rich client is the only option I can think of. If the user does not have rich client installed, then he has to save the report in local system as pdf after ad-hoc analysis and send it in mail manually.
