Error while doing Promotion action

Hi,

I am implementing in a demo system to check if all the configurations are working properly.

I have hired an employee on 01.01.2012. Then tried to perform promotion action on 01.08.2012.But it is showing error as employee active since 01.01.2012.

As of what i expected,when i run promotion action,the hire action will be delimited that is from 01.01.2012 to 31.07.2012 and promotion action will be from 01.08.2012 to 31.12.9999.

I am really not getting where it might be wrong.Pls help me on this.

Hi Nisha,

I suspect you are not completely aware of the Personnel Actions configuration - it seems that your Promotion action is not customized as you wish.

• If you don't want the Promotion action to delimit the previous action, you can configure it as an action that is saved only on Infotype 0302 (these kind of action don't change the employee's status). This is done by view T529A: make sure that flag U0000 is off and flag U0302 is on.
• If the system alerts that the employee is active when you perform the promotion action, this is caused by another wrong configuration of this action: make sure that field T529A-NAMEN is empty for that actions.

Hi ,

Thanks for the reply.In table T529A i maintained wrong entries in Function character as 1 instead 0 and now it working fine.
