How to hide fields

Former Member

Hi,

May I know is there any way we can hide up the fields for certain users?

We have some users who actually not allow to see certain fields like prices, total, and etc in marketing documents and all these fields are not able to set them to invisible in form setting.

Thanks & Regards,

Low

Hi Low,

The only way to hide fields from the header in forms is creating a Add-on. Hidding fields from the lines you can use form settings.

Other possibility is you can wait for the SAP B1 9.1 and then you can customize your forms by a group of users or for a specific user.

I'm also looking forward for this fixture but now I use a n Add-on.

Hi Augusto,

Yes, I am also waiting for my SAP B1 to upgrade into version 9.1.

Add-on seems pretty interesting to me, can you share me some guides on how to make the add-on for this?

Thank & Regards,

Low

Hi Low,

If you install B1 SDK you will have a folder ...\SAP\SAP Business One SDK\Samples\COM UI

To start there are some samples in VB.net or CSharp. Take a look and then you just google your needs and you will find a lot of help.

Good luck

1.Just Login the Particular SAP User with ID & Password.

2  Open the Form on which you have Hide the Fields.

3.  Go in Form Seetings - Table Format - Enable/Disable the Visible Check Box.

4.After that Suppose Sometimes User can Access the Form Settings & May change the Visibility of Fields. So Authorize them.Check Below for this-:

5.Go-Administration - System Initialization - Authorization - General Authorization -Select User - Click to General Option -Document Settings in Front of that Select No Authorization.

Please check Attached Image.

Hi Low NH...

You can use the form setting to hide the fields to the user for the rows but not for the document header it is a standard system behaviour....

Hi Kennedy,

If to hide document header fields are not possible, do you have any suggestion for these?

I was asking this because of few reasons:-

1) Some of the fields are not needed for us, they might confuse user.

2) Some users are not allow to see item prices.

3) We replaced some fields with UDF, hide them will prevent users from key in into the wrong fields.

Thank & Regards,

Low
