Good Day,
I am seeking assistance in determining how my BWP and BIP instances for ABAP and JAVA were built.
Here is the Scenario:
Server Facts:
Operation system: RHEL 5.5 (Tikanga)
Oracle 10g:
At the Linux OS level these directories can be found
a. /usr/sap/BWP
b. /usr/sap/BIP
Subdirectories of BIP are SYS, SCS02, JC01, config
Application facts:
Software Components when logged on via SAP GUI
SAP_BASIS
SAP_ABA
PI_BASIS
ST-PI
SAP_BS_FND
SAP_BW
GRCPINW
FINBASIS
ANAXSA
BI_CONT
OPMFND
SEM-BW
ST-A/PI
Frontend Facts:
SAP GUI 7.30
Business Explorer - indicating a JAVA installation
Oracle Facts:
There are two schemas in dba_users : SAPBWP, SAPSR3DB
Other Facts:
All installation is on same server.
Very familiar with building systems from scratch with ABAP and performing homogeneous system copy.
Uncertain
How is the system installed, is it a DUAL Stack and how to go about performing this. Do I install ABAP 1st, then JAVA from ./sapinst.
and how do I restore the JAVA part....
Thanks in advance..
Regards,
Vinood K. Maharaj
Hi Vinood
You have to perform System copy of both stack to create the test system.
Kindly refer the system copy guide

There is a need of Test environment in our BW system as well. Do you suggest system copy to be carried out.
If yes, would you like to detail a bit like BW production system should be used during system copy or if any links or useful documents. That will be really be helpful along with your above comment.
many thanks and regards
Thank You Sriram,
Very nice suggestion. Will follow that.
I also suppose that BASIS will have a big role to play isit not?
I am single BW Consultant working on this for which i need to know from BW Perspective the responsilbilites. That's why i asked you about this concept.
Do you have guide documents for this purpose which may appear helpful for reference?
Many Thanks
