RFC Receiver Adapter - Failed to reconnect after ECC restart

Hello ,

We are on SAP PO 7.31 SP8. We face a problem with RFC receiver adapter(PI -ECC) when ever there is a schedule downtime on ECC servers.

I know this is a very generic issue and some solutions are also provided on SDN for the same. When we go and manually restart the channel then it works fine . I just want to root out the manual bit.

I have already gone though the below links :

SAP Note : 730870.

I got the idea from these links that the property initialRfcClientConnectCheck needs to be set to false to root out this issue. Can you please provide your comments that what is the best way to resolve this?

Thanks

Gaurav

Hi Gaurav,

You can use the Availability Planning feature and have the communication channel automatically stopped during scheduled downtime.

Hi Gaurav - Please refer to the SAP Note # my reply in the below thread -

JCO_ERROR_SERVER_STARTUP - Error with sender RF... | SCN

If you can't schedule the channel to handle the downtime then adjust the maximum reconnect delay property accordingly and try...

Thanks Hareesh,

I have already seen this. But in our case we are using the receiver RFC adapter and not the sender.

Thanks

Then did you try Increasing the maximum number of retries and retry interval for that particular channel ?

If you can make use of ATP then you don't need to resend them as the messages will be processed automatically as soon as the channel started.

Hello Hareesh ,

I tried this approach by changing the interval time but even if it retries it goes in to error and is unable to process the data even after ECC is up.

Thanks
