Cost Collector and Production Orders

Hello colleagues,

Can you clarify to me the relationship between production orders and the cost collectors?

If production is managed in 3rd party system, MRP is running is SAP so planned orders will be created, is still production orders created for every planned order?

Can system be set to use one production order per cost collector (per FG)

Also is is possible to have cost collector on Plant level for total cost management. In that case again, how production orders need to be create. Can one production order can be set per manufactured material (FG/SFG) or one production order can be created for all with connection to the cost collector?

Is it possible to post logistic movements (GR/GI/Confirmation) directly to cost collector without production order at all (as PP is not managed in SAP-ECC)

Thanks a lot

    Hallo Michal,

I'll try to answer your question per my understanding.

"If production is managed in 3rd party system, MRP is running is SAP so planned orders will be created, is still production orders created for every planned order?"

This depends on the planner, whether or not to create production order for every planned order. The system will not automatically convert planned order to production order.

"Can system be set to use one production order per cost collector (per FG)"

To my knowledge, yes, it can.

"Is it possible to post logistic movements (GR/GI/Confirmation) directly to cost collector without production order at all (as PP is not managed in SAP-ECC)"

Yes, you can post goods movement directly to cost center
