ASE HADR Replication re-Materialization

Hello,

We are having an issue. SAP have recommended that for us to do an upgrade of a CRM system we will need to do the following:

"we recommend to use SWPM to disable and re-enable HADR over any direct
 interaction with DR Agent or Replication Server. There are two options
under "Generic Installation Options" -> "SAP ASE" -> "Database
Replication": "Removal of Replication Environment" and "Setup of
Replication Environment"."

But from our past experience this is an issue as the re-enabling does not work properly. When we last had to do this we tried this way 3 times with no success and in the end we had no choice but to completely unnistall and reinstall Sybase from scratch on both of the servers. Has anyone else had this issue or is it just us? I would like to get a general feel for the confidence for this procedure.
