Can Outlook add-in display External ID of an account ?

With the Outlook add-in, when we associate the email with an Account using the "Add with Reference to Account" feature, we can see a list of Accounts.   See screenshot  below.

Can that screen be enhanced easily to show the External ID  column ?

That way, the user can see the mapped ID from the external system - usually the ECC or CRM id - which they are more familiar with.

Currently it is not possible to show this information. It would be an new requirement to enhance the web service and the addin.

Quick question, is there any plan in the roadmap to let us manage the columns display there?

It's a tricky one but it would be huge especially when you have several extension fields!

Can you tell me which additional fields you want to see. Since we do not support extension fields it has to be one of the standard ones.

Cannot we use the technical field ids or something in a local config file? Just wondering if there would be a trick like that you could make happen.

Anyways the only standard fields I think would be valuable are the territory names and territory owners.

Maybe something else that would help Partho when searching for accounts. Can we select the view we want? So instead of "All" as it is by default, maybe have a dropdown with the queries saved for the current user so he/she can chose which one to make the search in, and narrow it down to "My Accounts" most of the time.

the External ID for sure would be a great field to add since most customers on a hybrid environment use the ECC number for all their transactions and interactions.

If the outlook add-on can show other fields available in personalization then I would think it could but I have never tried it.   I've got to think about who to ask.    - would you know?

The screens are popups from Outlook, not C4C.

There's no visible way to do Personalization - as you would in C4C.

The steps to get here are:

1. Install Outlook add-in
2. Restart Outlook
3. Select an email from
   outlook, double click to open and select Add Email from add-in menu located on
   top
4. Associate the email to an account by searching for account starting with a wildcard like M*
5. You should get a list of accounts. The first column is Account ID. We want to add another C4C column with External ID.
