SAP MMC Dispatcher(Disp+Work.exe) starts(yellow) then stops(grey)

Former Member

Hello Experts,

When I start the mmc, the disp+work.exe turns yellow with the status " Running but not connected to Message Server,J2ee status info unavailable", and then after a couple of seconds turns grey(stops).

I tried finding in the forum and tried a few changes but that didn't seem to work.

OS: Windows 2003.

DB: IBM DB2

Please help me resolve the issue.

I am pasting only error parts of the "dev_disp" file here (also attached the file).

Please ignore the previous post.

Actually, earlier the port was 3951, and i changed it to 3901. I added it both in Default and Instance profile. But still it's not working.

Please provide me dev_w0 and check your internal message server port once ?

Is it free ? check with 3901 port and update this in profile.

Hi Rahul

I thing your kernel level are very low you may require to upgrade the kernel & DBSL patch

as mention in the SAP Note 1667339 - "GwGetHdlInfo: invalid ni hdl -1" in dev_rd

Hi Divyanshu,

The "dev_w0" file is blank. When I check the instance profile parameters from the mmc it shows-

rdisp/msserv_internal=3901. Still I have added the parameter explicitly in the instance profile.

It's still not working.

what are the last logs you see in work directory ?

Can you also, check if ports are busy of not with someother applications ? If yes, stop that application.

If you have antivirus, disable it and check again.

Hi Divyanshu,

Can you please tell me how can I check whether a port is busy or free?

Thank you all.

I checked the services file. sapgwxx xxxx/tcp entry is there.

Actually I am an ABAPer, so i don't know much about basis(I am using IDES for learning ABAP).

Here I am pasting the contents of the "dev_rd" file. Can you please point out where the problem is and how can I resolve that problem?

Hi Rahul,

Check the sapgwxx xxxx/tcp entry on the service file.

If not add the entry and try again.

Hi,

What is your system ? Dual stack ?

Can you share dev_w0 dev_ms and dev_rd logs ?
