Hi,

I have search through the forum but unable to find any answer to my question. I have one controlling area in which currency type is 30, Currency is USD and also Different company code currency check is checked. now i need to assign this co area to 3 different company codes. one of which has the company code currency USD, 2nd one has the currency EUR and 3rd is GBP. all three company codes have the sasme fiscal year and chart of account as being assigned to Controlling area. my question is by these controlling area settings will the user be able to see the CO reporting in their company code currency? or do i have to change the settings.

please also note that one company code has already been gone live and we are developing the two new company codes with different currencies. no group currency has been maintained in first company code. how ever for the two new company codes we will define the group currencies.

Regards,

Hi ,

In CO, you specify in the year-dependent settings for the controlling area (Transaction OKKP whether you want to use one or more currencies (flag "All currencies", TKA00-ALLEW).

If you decided to use one currency only, all documents are only managed in CO area currency.

If you decided to use several currencies, the following three currencies are managed in CO:

    1. Controlling area currency

The controlling area currency can be:

       -  10 company code currency (only if all company codes assigned to CO area have the same currency)

       -  20 free controlling area currency

       -  30 group currency

    2. Object currency (defined per object)

As a rule, the object currency is the company code currency. Only in one case the object currency can be freely chosen, that is, if flag "different company code currencies allowed" is not active.  This flag is set automatically if CO area currency is not 10 and cross-company code accounting is set.

    3. Transaction currency (could be different in every posting).

Hi,

I am new to CO and i don't have much expertise in this area. as per Mr. Mansoor's reply i would be able to view reports in other currencies based on my setting of CO area. could you please confirm it? or do i have to change the settings or create a new CO area for this? which is the better option for me here?

Hi Faizan,

Yes you can get report in Co with the different currency but if you want a consolidation report merging   three different company code , it is so important to identy "Additional local currencies for company code" customizing in  OB22.

For a consolidation, you  must customize mutual local currency in 2. or 3. for three company otherwise it is so difficult to roll back system if documents is posted in  FI.

Hi Faizan,

Following Murat K's reply, please check follow consulting notes 335608 - Trnsln of 2nd and 3rd local currency from 1st local/transaction currency and note 314936 - Currency type in the controlling area.

Please also follow FAQ note 1830126 - Info: Currencies in real-time integration CO with FI.

Hi Faizan,

Sure in Co reporting will be able to see Co Code Currency & CO currency as specified with above settings .....(Fiscal Year/COA same)

Ex:

Controlling Area Currency- USD

Co Code 1: USD

Co Code 2: EUR

Co Code 3: GBP

when you see reports in Controlling you will get Object Currency(Co Code Currency/Controlling Area Currency.......)

Regd,

Khan.
