How Much Time will take for Decommission of SAP System

Hi Experts,

Recently we have upgraded our landscape. Right now we need to Decommission our Old Systems.

Can any one share how much time will take for one System.

Hi Srivastava,

Your ans is help for Decommission.

But we need approx. time to decommission a system. ( How much time will take for un-installation)

Uninstall won't take much time..

Inf act.. you can delete all using rm -r or format the drive or use sapinst to uninstall.

Once this is done - dismantle you system or shutdown, remove from network, use for other purpose like sandbox or whatever is required.

There is no need to uninstall the SAP system. You can shutdown the instance and disable the services (Windows) and finally shutdown the server. This can be completed in 5 minutes.

That depends on what you mean by "decommission". Aside from deleting the system in the service marketplace, there's not much you need to do from an SAP point of view. If the server is now completely redundant, you probably want to secure wipe the disks and dispose of it or repurpose it. There's no need to uninstall unless you can't wipe the disks...

Consequently, it is hard to say how long it will take. Since our servers are all virtual and we reuse the storage, decommissioning takes all of 5 minutes...
