Hi,
I have a question around hardware requirement for app servers/Central servers with regards to SAP with a HANA database.(BW)
I've looked at some benchmarks for SAP BW Enhanced Mixed Load (BW EML)
http://global.sap.com/solutions/benchmark/bweml-results.htm
I've noticed that application instances on the HANA systems are also spec'd with the same amount of memory as the database servers.
I understand that HANA is in-memory DB and needs large amounts of memory, but is there a reason for the application servers?
Update;
I see there is a note on HANA sizing, but no mention of the CI/Application servers;

Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
for the application server sides, the rules remain roughly the same than before.
The quicksizer for BW on HANA outputs both the demands for the app server & DB server.
Best,
Henrique.
