Restrict components in overview tree in MD04

Hi,

Requirement is that we need to restrict the components in overview tree in MD04. Say, A is the header material whose component is B, B's is C and C's is D. Now, we want the users to see only till C. Another thing is that, say C can be at BOM level 2/3 or 4, depending on the header material. I tried with MD4C using Overall Profile, but it is hard to fix a hierarchy level in this scenario.

Please suggest.

Hi,

This is not possible in standard SAP.

You can achieve it by enhancement as suggested above by expert Kiran.

or else you can restrict the users with respect to material type in MD04 transaction.

you could try with this Badi MD_ADD_ELEMENTS for restrict stock see during MRP planning.

Through DELKZ value in MDPSX structures you can insert our custom logic.

Let me know if my advise is been useful for you.

You want to restrict the component from MRP or only from MD04?

Thanks for the link, but its not about restricting quality stock. We want to components upto certian level to be visible in the overview tree.

As far as I know there is no option in standard for one component to restrict from MD04 in multilevel BOM.

If you check the above given discussion you can see the BADI with which you try to control.
