Unable to connect to the infoStore network layer ( DAC0002) Universe Design Tool

Hi,

We're having this error when trying to Edit a Connection trough the Universe Creation Wizard. We have been working the last months with the tool and everything has worked properly, we created connections and universes.

If we click Next with on the wizard we have a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library / runtime error and the Universe Design Tool get closed.

Our configuration is :

SAP Business Objects Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2

Product Version: 14.1.2.1121

We have created connections with a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 .

Someone could give us some clues to know what is the problem?

Hi,

Cause

• User Account Control (UAC) is enabled

Resolution

1. Go to Start -> Run menu, type msconfig and click on OK.
2. In the System Configuration window go to Tools tab, select ‘Change UAC Settings’ and click on Launch.
3. Change setting to ‘Never notify’ and click on OK.
4. Restart the machine.
5. Run the Designer

We'll do it as you said. This means the user account control has been changed. Because, Universe Designer has been working fine till last week.

Hi,

Our sysadm restarted Sql Server machine and BO machine. and everything is working fine now. But we didn't change anything about the UAC. Our UAC still is on the second high level.

But anyway thank you Ravi for your help.
