Escalation Notification - GRC 10

Hi All,

Just wanted to understand how Escalation notifications work in GRC.

I have my agent as Role Approver and Escalation to Role Alternate approver after one minute.

I have enabled Escalation notification at Role Owner stage and have defined template for that.

Issue is that no mail is being triggered.

Am I missing aything?

Please suggest.

Hi Padmavathi,

Escalation allows approval task to be escalated to next level in case the current approver does not approve for pre-defined period. In such case escalation notification is sent. It depends on the configuration settings you have specified. Check if all the parameters are setup correctly.

Hi Sai,

I was just about to paste snap shots similar to above. Your config seems to be fine.

Post this task settings, you need to run the report, which i mentioned in my previous post and you need to select the template ID: GRAC_AR_ESCALATION or the customized one as per your needs.

So, for Email reminders and Escalations same program used is it?

In My scenario if role owner doesn't approver request should go to alternate role owner after 5 days.

In general for all requests if the approver don't act up to 7 days Email reminder will be set.

So, in this case how to schedule this Email reminder job which works for both scenarios

Can you help please.?

Hi Sai,

Good to know that it is working now.

Yes, for both of the cases we have to go with the same program ID but with different Template ID's.

You can set the time frames for: "Period" and "Don't remind me"

In your scenario, if you want to get the request escalated to the alternate/secondary approver; you need to specify the Escalation agent ID and then while running the report you can set the time-lines.

How to we escalate it to the Manager's(approver) Manger (approvers manager)?

Hi Ameet,

I assume that this job is to send Email reminders to approvers based on number of days request is open.

Escalation mails should be triggered based on stage task settings configured.

Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect.

Anyways i executed the above job and checked even then escalation mail didn't go to alternate approver
