Bex Query Char Restriction on Fiscal Year (0FISCYEAR)

Hi,

On a particular DSO with hourly data loads and SID Generation during activation setting, When I try to create or execute a query I am having  issue with Fiscal Year (0FISCYEAR)

Query Execution Issue:

I have a mandatory user selection on Fiscal Year (0FISCYEAR),Upon the dropdown box display of Fiscal Year (0FISCYEAR) to display the list of
values systems is taking too much time and giving me time out error

Query Creating Issue:

When I try to create a query with char restriction on  Fiscal Year (0FISCYEAR),again to display either single values or list of avaliable variable or value ranges the system is taking too much time and time out issue.

This is happening only on this DSO and Fiscal Year (0FISCYEAR) used in rest of the cubes/dso’s is working as expected….

Hi,

I had similiar problem some time ago : values of characteristics loaded without and.

It appeared that version of BEx was slightly old.

After updating BEx version to BI Add On 7.X (based on 7.30) SP 7 Rev. 734 BEx works ok.

Few suggestions:

Is fiscal year a part of keyfield in DSO ?

If not then try creating secondary index on fiscal year and see if that reduces the time or not.

No its not part of Key field's of the DSO.

How does secondary index on my DSO will help to resolve the issue I am having oat the query level.

I think you should read more about secondary index on characteristic and its effect on f4 help.

Take active table of DSO and go to the SE11. Select the Indexes ->  choose create and provide the 0fiscalper field....

Created non unique index on DSO active table....but still didn't resolved my issue..

any inputs please
