Characteristic-Dependent User-Defined Texts

Hi Experts,

Can anyone help me to understand and process steps for Characteristic-Dependent User-Defined Texts of specifications. I have gone through the SAP Help portal but could understand the process and how & where exactly we can assign them?

Thank you very much.

Regards

Gunnu

    Dear Gunnu

    the steps are clear; you need to first define an "user defined text type"; then in the same transaction there you assign the phrase sets to the characteristic you can assign the "special" user defined text;

    etc. So just check SAP Online help. E.g. https://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/a7/28701e0a6c11d28a220000e829fbbd/content.htm

    Most recent version here: Phrase Set-to-Attribute Assignment - Basic Data and Tools (EHS-BD) - SAP Library

    Nothing really complex; the new defined "user defined text types" will then be available only in those value assignment types on the top to whcih you have assigned them

    This option is used rarely. Why do you need it? You should try to use phrases and not an "user defined text type", There is only one "but": in newer EHS versions you can upload "documents" of any kind to SAP EHS in user define texts; you need "only" to define the user defined text type like that; here it might make sense to make "special links; but in most cases it is not needed.
